Serving temperature: 18°C

Grape Variety: Corvina veronese, rondinella, molinara.

This wine is made from a special blend of Veneto red grapes. Amarone gets its name from its particularly dry taste. Famous wines experts like Hugh Johnson consider Amarone one of the ten best "terroir" of Italy. Because of its alcoholic content (14-16% average), this red wine can be compared to vintage Brunello di Montalcino or Barolo. Recommended: to sip or savor it alone, or together with ripe cheeses, fine cured meat, goose liver pâte, roasted meat and game.

Grape variety
Ca 70% Corvina Veronese; other grapes cultivated in the Verona hills (Rondinella; Molinara, etc.).

Growing location
Vineyards in the Valpolicella country, in the province of Verona, Veneto; lime soil.

Vinification
· Grapes are harvested by hand in September/October; they are selected and put in wooden containers, inside open-sided rural buildings for 5 months (drying procedure: 100 kg of grapes usually yield 20 liters of Amarone);
· In Winter (February) these semi-dried grapes are pressed; must ferments in stainless steel tanks at low temperature until fermentation is complete.
· Aging in medium-size oak casks for about 4 years; maturation in bottles for 7-9 months before distribution.

Color
Garnet red with pomegranate glints.

Bouquet and alcohol rate
Ethereal fragrance with hints of sour cherry and sometimes almonds and "goudron" (tar); ca 14-17%.

Taste and serving temperature
Full-bodied, ethereal, intense, slightly fruity (rich in complex, dry, pleasant aftertastes); ca 16-18°C.
